Splash Damage: One Word

with one comment

Changes a mood of a song completely and totally, making a poignant song into a drugie rant.

I am talking about James Blunt’s “You’re Beautiful,” which makes sense coming from a guy named Blunt of all things.

It is/was a rather familiar song some time last year/beginning of this year.  One of the line goes something like this:

“…She could see from my face that I was…  flying high.”  That’s the one you’re most likely be familar with (ie edited singles version.)

Recently, I had a chance to listen to uncensored (album perhaps?) version.  That same line now goes like this:

“…She could see from my face that I was…  fucking high.”

Yea.  Way to ruin the moment there, Blunt.

  1. it’s only casual swearing, normally in the UK & here in australia swearing is used for punctuation or indeed for emphasis rather than profanity.

as for the name it’s beacuse he’s rather upper class his real name is blount, you only have to look back to the queen’s art historian & russian spy anthony blount to remember the last famous blount. he’s probably taken out the vowel to distance himself form that & to seem more a man of the people.

not that i’m an aficianado, in fact i find him rather histrionic.
